About the event

An overview of ecological survey and assessment requirements for development, including recent updates in regulations and industry guidance.

Ecology is a material consideration in the planning process and both national and local planning policies seek to minimise impacts on biodiversity and provide ecological enhancement. Without early consideration and advice from an experienced ecological consultant, ecological requirements can cause significant delays and additional cost to development projects.

 Topics covered will include:

  • Legislation and planning policy
  • Industry best practice and guidelines
  • Ecological information required to support a planning application
  • Different types of ecological report
  • Survey effort and timing
  • Ecological mitigation and enhancement
  • Protected species licensing
  • Post-planning issues
  • Compliance monitoring and reporting

There will be opportunity for questions.
