This will be a fascinating day with our various speakers on the Naze Tower. The series of talks will give an outline of this Historic site and Building, its importance before and through two world wars, the impact that alterations to the structure had during its history and the work to remove it from the ‘At Risk List’ of Historic England.

  • 09.30 – Register at the Essex Wildlife Trust Center

  • 10.30 – The Thames and Medway ( Ian Mercer BSc FGA, chairman of Essex Rock and  Mineral Society and Member of GEoessex)

  • 11.15 – Tea/Coffee

  • 11.45 – Investigation, early repairs, Obtaining Grant aid and Tendering (Phil Chatfield MCIOB RICS Certified Historic Building Professional)

  • 12.20 – Pointing & mortar analysis (Simon Swann BA Hons. ACR. (Accredited Conservator)of Swann Associates)

  • 12.45 – Lunch

  • 14.00 – Commencement of work and post scaffold Investigation and repair – Phil Chatfield MCIOB
