Joe Malone will deliver an interesting and informative CPD on Building Defects using case studies.

Defects can occur over time and are often the result of damp/water penetrating the building. Spotting defects is often easy but knowing why they have occurred and subsequentley offering a permanent fix can be trickier.

The aim of the CPD will be:

To cover a wide range of building defects that have caused damp within buildings.

To highlight the techniques and principles required to reach a successful outcome when investigating damp

To highlight the difference between a cure and a management solution

To demonstrate that correct diagnosis is required if damp is to be cured rather than managed.

To make the point that as Chartered Professionals you should not be advocating management solutions for damp unless absolutely necessary.

Joe Malone is the owner/director of Malone Associates a specialist company in damp. He is a CBC and MCIOB. Joe has appeared in CM magazine and has spoken numerous time for the East Midlands branch in the past.

The talk is aim at surveyors, project managers, loss adjustors, building company owners etc
